Off to Kansas!

This last weekend I made the 7 hour trek to Kansas! I actually really enjoy long drives, I have a routine. I get my car washed and detailed before the trip and I always download an audiobook to listen to (this trip I  enjoyed Nora Roberts, Vision
in White. It is book one of the Bride quartet series, I am telling you, these books are amaz!) My half way point is where I stop for gas and Starbucks. I drive a midsize SUV so filling up is not fun.

So I finally made it to good ol' Lindsborg! It was so great to see my parents and my puppy Ty! Sleeping in my old room and having my parents wake me up with coffee in the morning was so great! Here are a few of the highlights of the weekend!

Preppy pink mani/pedi and my mint clutch! Great look for the weekend
My baby brothers college graduation!
Kody getting his diploma

Kody and his girl Caitlin. Both 2013 K State grads!

My parents got Kod an ipad for a grad gift. Lucky kid.

At the Speakeasy with my mom, aunt and uncle. So fun to catch up with them! Gotta love that big beer!

Me and the grad!

My baby Ty. I love that beagle! pretty sure she loves me too. :)

Ode to my mom

My mom is the most amazing woman I know. She has always been there for me and with out here, I would not be the person I am today. I actually think I am becoming her? I find myself thinking, how would my mom handle this situation and doing just that. I can call her (which I do, pretty much everyday) and talk about myself or whine about my day or discuss what outfit I just bought, and she lets me ramble on and on. Not many people can handle my brand of crazy, but she definitely does. So blessed.

Love ya momma! Happys Mothers Day!

Relaxing

Today felt like the first day of truly beautiful weather we have had in a long time. It was sunny and 70 degrees here in Colorado. Ryan and I both had the day off so we took a trip up to Castle Rock to check out the outlets. We have a few trips coming up so we were on the hunt for a few items to "complete our looks" for the events!

Obvi I had to have my Venti skinny vanilla latte for the trip.
We made a quick mixed cd before we left that consisted of; Black Shelton, Redneck....Fun, Some Nights....Miranda Lambert, Mommas Broken Heart....just to name a few. We jammed the whole way there. We have tickets to see Fun at Red Rocks this August,  sooooo excited!!

I love love love J. Crew outlet and luckily Castle Rock has this poosty store. I spotted these lovelies there and wanted them oh so badly! However, my husband was shopping with me so he reeled me in and they did not come home with me. :( I did however, pick up a pair of white skimmer pants which will be perfect for spring/summer outfits!

How beautiful is this!

This patten is even prettier in person! I did pick up an iphone case in this patten, a little cheaper than the dress!

After our shopping excursion, we had "liner" (kinda like brunch but lunch and dinner)
at BJ's brewhouse. So delicious! We got a table outside that had a great view of pikes peak!

This was a California club flatbread pizza. It had grilled chicken, bacon, tomatoes and avocados on a cracker thin crust. Tasty. Of course there is a class of pinot.

My handsome friend. :)

We ended the day with a 3 hour nap with the windows open. Perfection.

Future home must haves..part 2

So after part 1 of my future home must haves, I realized I have many more "needs" in my next home. These are ALL non negotiable. :)

So our current laundry area is in the basement and I feel like I'm going into the mines of Mordor every time I need to do some laundry. Since I hate going down there, laundry doesn't get done as often as it should. I honestly really do like doing laundry, but I want a pretty room to do it in.
Love the window in this one! The smell of fresh laundry and a spring breeze. Sounds like domestic heaven.

I also want a mud room. We currently enter through the garage, straight into the kitchen and thats where everything gets dumped. I would like to walk in though a mud room with a window and hooks and be at ease the second you walk into the home.
Not exactly how I would accessorize, but you get the idea. PS I want a pair of Hunter books. So cute.

The best way to unwind is in a hot bath with bath salts, wine and a girly show. I want a big soaker tub with a view to come home to! I think bathrooms with a window feel more open and fresh and gets ya ready for the day ( or night).

This will do. Dont like the marble, but perfect hight to the window!

....Till next time!
